What parts does Knight's stock?

We stock fast moving parts for most types of outdoor power equipment such as oil filters, fuel filters, air filters, oil, batteries, blades, common belts, and spark plugs, we usually have in stock at all times.
Knight's also has a large stock parts that are common for many machines. And if we don't have them, we can order them for you.
Due to the many different types of machines and parts that exist, there is no room for us to have every part for every machine.

What parts can Knight's get?

Any parts for machines that we sell in our store are available, either in-stock or by order. We also stock and can order parts for just about every make and model of equipment that's out there.

What parts can Knight's NOT get?

99% of all makes and models of equipment that are out there, we can get parts for. That said, there are a few situations that make it unable for parts to be obtained.
Older machines, especially name brands that have been bought out by other manufacturers or are more than 15 years old, have many discontinued parts.
There are also low cost power equiments (such as low priced generators, and electric products) that are manufactured overseas and sold at a price that almost seems too good to be true. Unfortunately, parts lookup and customer service for these brands of equipment are alsmost non existant. This presents a major problem when trying to obtain part numbers and/or parts lookup. That's why before any equipment purchase, we recommend doing some research and checking out parts availability.

Why do I need the model/serial number of my machine?

In order for us to look up parts in our database, we need to know the model and serial number of your machine. We can't look up parts by just knowing that it is a "Toro tractor" or a "red mower" because there are hundreds of different types of Toro tractors and a thousand different red mowers.
A Model number will tell us the type of machine, and, in some cases, the year it was made, where it was made, and by who.
The Serial number is a definition of the machine, much like a social security number is to us. Each number is different for each machine. The serial number is a perfect way for us to determine what part(s) your machine needs and it will also make things more fast and accurate when buying.
For example, a mower with a model number of 123456 was made in 2012 and has a serial number of 12-559900. The next year of prodcution, the manufacturer used the same model number of 123456 but made several changes to many important parts of how the mower works. This new 2013 model has a serial number of 13-607400.
This is just one example of why a serial number is so important to getting the right part for your machine.

How do I find the model & serial number?

Different manufacturers place models and serial numbers in different places. The best way to find your model and serial number is to find your owners manual as it is usually written in there or tells you exactly where to look. It's also a good idea to write down your numbers in your owners manual as soon as you purchase your machine. This will save you a lot of time in the future. Other times, that may not be possible, so you need to look at the machine itself. The model and serial number are usually printed on a sticker or stamped on a metal tag and placed on the machine somewhere. Some possible and common places to look on walk mowers are under the handle, underneath the bagger door flap or on the deck itself. On tractors, some common locations are under the seat, under the hood, on the side, or on the back of the tractor. Note: There may be two types of model and serial numbers! On a tractor for example, there may be a model/serial number for the tractor and there may be another one for the engine. The model/serial number for the engine is usually stamped on the engine itself. Use these numbers if you are ordering parts for engines. If you find more than one model/serial number and don't know which one to use, write them both down, or snap a couple clear and easy to see pictures and bring them both in. By looking at it, we can tell which you will need.

How long will it take for my part to arrive once I order it?

There are many factors that go into the arrival of a part or parts. We place our orders to our distributors every Monday and Wednesday before we open and generally take 1 to 3 business days. If you place an order for a part on Tuesday at 10:00am, we will order it first thing on Wednesday morning. If you place an order for a part on Wednesday at 10:00am, we will order it first thing on the next Monday morning. Our packages generally arrive around 1:00pm daily.
Factors that go into when a part arrives depends on when you order the part, the location of our parts distributor, inclimate weather, and whether or not the factory has the part on hand.

My part is on backorder. What does that mean?

We order our parts from a distributor. The distributor gets those parts from the brand manufacturer's factory. A backordered part is when the distributor does not have that part in their stock. It could also mean the the factory does or does not have any either. That said, backorders usually take a couple extra days to arrive or they may take weeks in some extreme cases. Fortunately, most backordered parts arrive fairly shortly.
